A True Gentleman's Hunting Dog

Breeders of British Labradors, producing world class hunting dogs that have classic good looks, are instinctive and stylish in the field, and exhibit calm temperaments for a civil companion in your home.

Great Dogs for Great People. That’s our goal at BritishLabradors.com.

And we’ve accomplished it for 28 years.

With unsurpassed genetic testing for abnormalities of our breeding stock, the best guarantee in the business, a keen eye for matching blood lines and a laser-like focus on customer service, we commit considerable time, resources and experience each day, each month, each year on the further development of the best British Labradors in the world.

Dogs with unsurpassed health, athleticism and vigor in the field, yet possess calm temperaments for easy training and control.

Founded and owned by Janice and Dennis Anderson and headquartered in the St. Croix River Valley not far from Minneapolis-St. Paul, Britishlabradors.com breeds only those Labradors we have imported from the U.K., or offspring from those dogs.

Our studs are not stood for outside breeding, and we do not sell our stock to other breeders. In fact, all of our dogs are sold with Limited AKC Registrations — so intent are we on maintaining the integrity of breeding lines that in some cases date back a half-century and more.

In these many respects — genetic testing, health guarantee, a quarter-century of experience — we stand apart from the helter-skelter, here-today-gone-tomorrow breed-anything “British Labrador’’ cottage industry that has grown up around us the past quarter century.

Ask anyone who owns a “best friend’’ from Britishlabradors.com —a Labrador that can retrieve ducks, grouse, pheasants or other game sunrise to sunset, or perform at the highest levels in AKC or UKC hunt tests . . . before returning home to hang out quietly around the house.

Not just as a loyal and trusted companion. But as a loved member of the family.

Great dogs for great people

Congratulations to Poppy, the 2017 NASHDA Champion Shed Hunter, a BritishLabrador.com (Queensland's Bailey x Craighorn Snap) dog, and owner Mr. Kent Coen, from Nebraska. Poppy and Josh Miller (River Stone Kennels),  her trainer and handler, competed in the Open Division with the fasted time. The World Shed Dog Championship (NASHDA)  is an invitational event. A dog must qualify during the current season to be invited to enter the World Shed Dog Championship. At the Championship, the dogs compete against each other for trophies and prizes. Dogs in this event are put into three categories: Junior (dogs under two years of age), Amateur Handler (for Amateur Handlers only) and Open (Professional and Amateur Handlers).
Congratulations to the other BritishLabrador.com dogs who qualified and competed at this year's Championship which include:

Deuce owned by Rich Lomen, Molly owned by Erik and Eileen Thorpe, Sam owned by Tom and Barb Hexum,  Maggie  (2016 NASHDA Junior Champion) owned by Tom and Barb Hexum, Java owned by Kirk and Wendy Rolfson  Scout owned by Matt Mellum, Sage owned by Whitney and Josh Miller, Reed owned by Bob and Julie Leja,  and Lester (2014 NASHDA Open and Jr. Champion) owned by Russ and Cynthia Iverson.

Congratulations Dennis Anderson, for his induction to the Minnesota Waterfowl Hall of Fame. Dennis, the Outdoors columnist for the Star Tribune in Minneapolis, has been a leader in conservation issues and using his space in the paper to fight for Minnesota's natural resources. A column he wrote in December 2004 was the impetus for the first Duck Rally, which generated the momentum that resulted in the Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment in November of 2008. We're now in our 10th year of the amendment and it's pretty easy to see how much has been accomplished in the state as a result of the Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment. Dennis also recently received  the Duck's Unlimited 2018 Wetland Conservation Achievement Award during the 83rd North American Wildlife and Natural Resources Conference. "Dennis' storytelling abilities promote our collective passion for waterfowling, while balancing advocacy for wildlife habitat conservation that keeps the plight of wetlands and prairies fresh in the minds of readers," said Tom Fulgham, Ducks Unlimited's chief communications officer. Anderson received the award for his more than 30 years of balancing outdoor adventure stories with wildlife conservation advocacy articles that engage the public and remind them of the critical need for Duck's Unlimited's mission. "Dennis has advocated for habitat conservation, public funding and state and federal legislative support that allows Ducks unlimited and other nonprofit conservation groups to effectively do their jobs and make a difference to wildlife," said Jon Schneider, Ducks Unlimited regional biologist in Minnesota.

Donated Puppy
BritishLabradors.com donates a puppy each year to non-profit organizations. 2015 donated a puppy to the Breath of Life Gala for The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The highest bidder received a certificate entitling them to a puppy (male, female, black or yellow) from any litter produced by BritishLabradors.com. The pup auctioned for $12,000.

Just a quick note to tell you that my family and I are overjoyed with Willow. Willow is more than everything you described ... Loving, gentle, confident, calm, and a hunting dog that is very special ... It's almost like she is two different dogs ... A calm devoted "lover" to family and friends and the very special hunting dog that is just off the charts in intelligence and desire ...
